This is not a demo with fake data. HIWC Books tracks real revenue from Hooker Island Wood Company — a handmade games business my wife Amy and I run out of Newcastle, Oklahoma.
Why I Built This
Amy and I were tracking everything in spreadsheets. Income from four sales channels, hundreds of expenses, receipt photos in a folder somewhere, tax time was a nightmare. Every small business owner knows the drill.
I needed something that pulled from all our sales channels automatically, let me scan receipts with my phone, and told me what I needed to know without digging through rows of data. Nothing off the shelf did all of that without a monthly subscription. So I built it.
